Professor Wong Wai-tat, Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, was appointed as warden of Student Hostel II for a term of office from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2027.

Professor Wong Wai-tat joined Shaw College in 2015. He felt it was the right time to take up different roles ten years after joining the College, so he applied to be a warden. Professor Wong was awarded University Education Award 2024 in recognition of his outstanding performance in teaching. His teaching focuses on practical and experiential learning, developing students’ cognition and empathy. Professor Wong is currently serving on the College Disciplinary Committee. He doesn't have many opportunities to interact with college students outside of the classroom. He had lived in student hostel during his undergraduate years, but taking up the role of warden is a brand-new endeavor and he anticipated many challenges would be coming up. Professor Wong hopes to interact more with resident students, understand their perspectives, exchange views with them so that he and the students will be able to learn from each other.
